Frozen Blueberry Bites

Got blueberries and yogurt? Perfect! You’re well on your way to a simple, healthy snack guaranteed to curb those sweet tooth cravings.

I’m sure my readers know by now; I adore sweets and I’m not willing to part ways with scrumptious daily treats. So, I’m always on the hunt to find healthier indulgences to not only fuel my body but satisfy my sugar fix as well. Enter in frozen blueberry bites!

TWO INGREDIENT RECIPE

Blueberries: Fresh blueberries are perfect for this recipe because they freeze into tiny bite-sized pieces. You could also use grapes, quartered strawberries, or any bite-sized fruit your heart desires (like diced mango, kiwi, or watermelon).

Yogurt: You can use any yogurt you have on hand here! I prefer yogurt with some sweetness (like vanilla) rather than plain Greek yogurt, which can taste a bit sour.

WHAT ARE SOME HEALTH BENEFITS?

Blueberries are incredibly healthy and nutritious. They are packed with antioxidants that protect our body from free radicals that can damage cells, contributing to aging and diseases. These little guys also boost heart health, brain function and are a wonderful anti-inflammatory.

Eating Greek yogurt may improve bone health as it’s rich in calcium and protein. Protein-rich foods help us to feel fuller longer and build lean muscle mass. This healthy treat also contains probiotics that are good bacteria aiding to boost our immune system and decrease stomach issues.

Helpful Tips:

Make sure your yogurt-covered fruit is in the freezer long enough, at least an hour or longer- you don’t want a mushy mess!

If your bites have been in the freezer for several days, be sure to let them thaw a tiny bit before biting into them.
